About:
Borno, Adamawa, Yobe and Gombe (BAY & G) States have been devastated by an insurgency making it insecure especially for girls who face multitude of threats on the way to and in school. Communal support structures (such as schools, hospitals, markets) and services that existed have been weakened or destroyed due to the conflict. Jami Al Hakeem Foundation (J-HF) aimed to increase girls’ attendance and retention in schools by increasing their awareness on issues that impact their ability to attend school, including threats of violence and rebuilding supportive community structures.
PROJECT REACH: 66 ADVOCACY VISIT WAS CONDUCTED ACROSS BORNO, ADAMAWA, YOBE AND GOMBE STATES
- 125 G4G Clubs were formed.
- 3481 Members of G4G Clubs.
- 37 Female mentors who tutor G4G girls and also serve as GBV Desk officers.
- 240 Champions & Members were trained on right to Education, GBV Prevention and Response, Good Hygiene Practice and leadership skills.
- 12 Desk Officers were trained on gender equality and GBV prevention and response
- 37 Head Teachers/ Principals capacity were developed to oversee G4G Activities
- 185 SBMC members were trained on Resource mobilization, School Development Plan and G4
